The following provides our PCs with an overview of the process related to the December 1, 2016 LD23 Organizational Meeting.  More details will be forthcoming before the meeting date.

Role of the Nominating Committee (selected at September 8, 2016 general meeting):

            to solicit qualified nominees for the elected Officer and State                           Committeeman;                                                                                                 to collect those names, confirm eligibility, and secure a commitment               from each nominee to fulfill the obligations of the office if elected;                   to produce and present a written report in the form of a ballot for the               December 1, 2016 Organizational Meeting.

Submission process for nominees:

            Any LD23 PC who was elected on August 30, 2016 may submit his/her name as a nominee for one of the elected Officer positions and/or a State Committeeman position using the Intent to Run form, which can be found on the "Documents" page on the web site, www.ld23gop.org or by clicking HERE.  A nominee should be familiar with the duties of the office which he/she seeks.  For elected Officer positions, this information can be found in Article IV of the District 23 Republican Committee Bylaws, on the "Documents" page of www.ld23gop.org or by clicking HERE.  For the State Committeeman position, the duties are summarized on the Intent to Run form.  In order for a nominee's name to appear on the printed ballot, the fully completed form must be submitted according to the instructions on the form and received no later than 5 PM on October 31, 2016.  (If you are unable to submit the form by e-mail, you may submit it in person at the October 13 general meeting.)

December 1, 2016 Organizational Meeting:

            The procedure to be followed at this meeting can be found in Article VIII of the District 23 Republican Committee Bylaws and will be more fully detailed in rules to be distributed to PCs along with the official call to meeting at least 10 days prior to the December 1, 2016 meeting. If you do not submit an Intent to Run form before the October 31, 2016 deadline, your name will not appear on the printed ballot, but you may provide that           information and be nominated from the floor at the December 1, 2016 Organizational Meeting.  You must be present in person at that meeting to do so.
